"Don't settle for anybody, just so you can have somebody. Be patient." ~ Anonymous
Don't settle just because you're lonely.
Don't settle just because people are pressuring you to get married.
This is the moment when you can be selfish with your decision and when you can base your present decision on your future situation.
Don't settle for the boy/girl who makes you feel special just by complementing your body whilst ignoring who you are.
Don't settle for the boy/girl who everyone wants just so you have a trophy. Don't settle for the boy/girl who doesn't appreciate you, but instead, disrespects you through his/her words or actions.
Settling can lead to an unhappy future, a future without love. Why settle for someone and deprive both you and that person of the love and happiness they deserve?
"Know your worth. Know the difference between what you're getting and what you deserve."
"Know your worth and then add VAT" ~ Kaldy
When you were younger, did you ever come up with a list of things you wanted in a guy/girl? If not, please take a few minutes to do so now.
Make a copy of your list and cancel out every superficial thing. For example, "the height of the person," "their hair colour," "body size," "skin tone," "how rich they are," "what car they drive" and "celebrity lookalike."
With a highlighter, group the important values together such as the person's faith (referred to as 'religion' by most people), opinion on drugs, opinion on alcohol, et cetera.
With another highlighter, group how you want him to treat you, your family and your future kids.
When you feel interested in a guy/girl, he/she may not completely got the bill when it comes to your list. That's why we have to be more focused on the highlighted things than we are with the crossed out things?
We need to make the crossed out things the bonus. We either get it or we don't, but it really doesn't matter, as long as we get all or most of the important (highlighted) things.
Girls, is it better to be in a relationship with an Ian Somerhalder or Hemsworth brother lookalike, but feel like a dead bug because of how he treats you or be with someone who people don't think has the same or similar aesthetics as Ian or the brothers, but you feel like a queen because of the way he treats you?
Guys, would you rather be in a relationship with with a Megan Fox or Beyoncé lookalike and feel weak, drained, mistreated and frustrated all the time because of the way she treats you or be with someone who doesn't look anything like them, but makes you feel like a king because of the way she treats you?
Girls, would you rather settle for a nice guy who you don't love and who becomes like a roommate to you (if you get married) or wait to meet the one who you would fall madly in love with and who will fall madly in love with you?
Guys, would you rather be with a sweet girl who you don't love and who becomes like a roommate to you (if you get married) or wait to meet that special someone who you love so much you can't think straight and who is head over heels in love with you?
Think about it.
